Help, Hope and Edification

This morning, May 10, 2025 at 9:04 am, there was a reported 4.1 earthquake. It’s epicenter was 21 km southeast of Greenback, Tennessee. It registered as far as metropolitan Atlanta, Georgia. It also was detected in parts of North Carolina, South Carolina and parts of Virginia.

This magnitude of earthquake is considered mild.  Most of the damage was reported in the area and just outside of the area of the epicenter.

This area had a magnitude 4.4 in 2018. The Eastern Tennessee Seismic zone extends across Tennessee, Northwestern Georgia and Northeastern Alabama. The largest known for the region was a 4.6 on April 29, 2003.
