What are you dreaming of doing in the near future? What are your plans to address the coming changes? It’s been fascinating to see what changes are coming up. It’s been fascinating and maybe a little scary( just joking I think). Maybe you have an engaging game your developing, creating new software, app or development environment or starting some other type of business. Not sure? Well one of the biggest regrets would be to never get started if that’s your goal. Nothing ventured nothing gained. Right? So dream, plan and go for it.
There are a number of stories about what AI will replace in the coming years and several opinions on what the impact will be. I am looking to stay ahead of the changes and weather them well and hopefully you will too. Some suggestions for how we can do this are:
1) Get new training in skills that will continue to be marketable.
2) Continue to find ways to make yourself valuable in your current job and in your current field.
3) Be flexible in how you earn and adaptable – this has always been valuable really. These are not the days to be set in your ways from a career standpoint.
4) Start a business, become an independent contractor. Scary at first thought of it but if it keeps you marketable maybe not so much. Also, you staff up or down but you don’t lay yourself off.
It’s hard to get more specific without focusing on specific fields research and how they will be affected, but I really believe planning preemptively should help. Also, it’s always been a good idea to have rainy day funds so try to have some.
